Encouragement For Your Journey With God

Love Always Hopes

“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails.”  I Cor. 13:4-8a NIV

God always hopes and expects great things for us and of us.

Eph 2:10 explains that God prepared in advance good works for each of us to do.  That means He has great expectation and hope that we will do them.  He has given us Holy Spirit to lead us, empower us, give us wisdom and everything else we need to live a godly life and accomplish His will (2 Peter 1:3).  His hope and expectation of us is good.

He doesn’t dread it when we wake up each morning wondering what kind of mess we will make today.  No, His mercies are new every morning (Lam. 3:22-23) and He is delighted to see what and how you and I will get right each day.

If you are a parent, you can relate to this at some level.  Your hopeful expectation of your children is success. And, unlike us, God never throws in the towel on hope.

He always has hopeful expectation of us.  He knows the same Spirit that raise Christ from the dead, dwells in you – if you have given your life to Him (Rom. 8:11).  As you yield your life more fully to Him day by day, you cannot help but succeed.
