Love Always Trusts

“4 Love is patient,love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.” I Cor. 13:4-8a NIV
God always trusts you! Wow, that gets my attention. Just think about all the things He has entrusted to us.
From the very beginning God entrusted humankind with dominion over and stewardship of the earth. Adam and Eve gave that dominion to Satan through their disobedience. But Jesus took it back through His death and resurrection. Matt. 28:18-19 reveals all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. And He has given us back authority on earth.
Matt, 10:1 says He trusts us with authority to cast out evil spirits and heal every kind of disease and illness.
Luke 10:19 says we have authority over all the power of the enemy.
Matt 28:19 shows we have authority to disciple nations and baptize people. God has entrusted us with spiritual gifts to use in building up the body of Christ and sharing the Gospel with others. He entrusts some with great resources. He entrusts others with great knowledge and insight. When we steward well the gifts and resources He gives us, we often find ourselves entrusted with more! And that is just a glimpse of what God trusts us with.
We frequently let Him down by misuse or not using at all the authority He give us – but God is patient with us and continues to trust us!
