Encouragement For Your Journey With God

Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails.”  I Cor. 13:4-8a NIV

God does not keep a record of our wrongs! When we are forgiven our slate is wiped clean!

Colossians 2:13-14 NLT says “you were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all your sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross” When satan reminds you of past sin and failure, you can remind Him that the record of those sins were nailed to the cross and remembered no more!

That does not mean God forgives our sin without true repentance – which includes a revelation that our thoughts, attitudes, action or inaction is sinful, followed by sincere remorse and a dedication to change. But He understands our frailties and when we truly repent, He forgets about them. Psalm 103:12 assures us that God has removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.

So, if you are sincerely confessing a sin for the umpteenth time, don’t worry, He is not counting.
