Love Never Dishonors

“⁴ Love is patient,love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs.⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.⁸ Love never fails.”  I Cor. 13:4-8a NIV

God never dishonors us. He will never act unbecomingly, indecent or improper.  In fact, He does just the opposite. Psalm 84:11 NIV declares, “For the Lord God is sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor, no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” God gives honor to those who walk with Him. 

One of the ways God honors us, is by authoring freewill. He respects our choices and will not force us to do anything – good or bad. Gal. 5:13 reminds us that we are called to freedom, so we should not use our freedom to serve our flesh but to do good. We may dishonor ourselves. Others may try to dishonor us. But not God!
