Love Rejoices In Truth

“4 Love is patient,love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.” I Cor. 13:4-8a NIV
God rejoices in truth, what is right and just. He rejoices when we know who we are in Christ and live as Children of God.
In John 14:6, Jesus reveals that He is “the Way, the Truth and the Life.” He wants us to know truth, for it sets us free (John 8:32).
But Jesus tells us in John 8:44 that satan is the father of lies. His assault of truth is not new. It has been going on since the dawn of creation. The devil tries to force feed his lies to us through seemingly trustworthy sources – the media, schools, friends. We must guard what we believe for I Peter 5:8 says the devil is always roaming around looking for someone to devour. If we believe his lies or swallow someone’s subjective truth, it brings destruction.
Be a lover of truth as presented in the Bible. It is God’s Word and the final authority of what is real. God will rejoice over that!
